Brent Amburgey earned his PhD in the Languages, Cultures and Literacies program in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University (Vancouver, Canada) in 2024. His doctoral thesis focused on the plurilingual learning strategies of university students and how such practices may often be discursively constructed. Brent previously earned an MA in Applied Linguistics / TESOL at Portland State University and completed a graduate certificate in Business Communication through Harvard University. He has taught at the university level in Japan, Canada, and the United States - in a variety of contexts, including mainstream content courses and language or first-year academic writing classrooms.
